This is an original 1947 French vintage advertisement print for the highly acclaimed Lancôme perfume, Tropiques. Created by the master perfumer Armand Petitjean, Topiques was an exotic fragrance laden with citrus, spices, woods and lush florals. It appealed to the women of society. The advertisement is lush in details as well. Tropiques was presented in a clear crystal bottle with a thick crystal topper. It came in a beautifully decorative box also rich with a profusion of flowers that reflected the richness and depth of the perfume. The advertisement image is further enhanced by petals and vines and a detailed border that speaks to the luxurious and sumptuous beauty of the fragrance. This image would work well in a powder room, bathroom, or dressing room. It is a prime example of French advertising art. It was originally published in a French periodical. The magazine which featured couture designs had limited circulation and has now become increasingly more difficult to find with the passage of time. This print is a true BEAUTY!
The vintage print is 8 by 11 inches in size. It is original to 1947 and NOT a recent reproduction. It is in A+ condition, clean with no markings of age. It is custom matted in a neutral 16 x 20 inch mat which works perfectly in a standard size frame. Please allow time for custom matting.
