This is a matted original lithograph that dates to 1930 by Suzanne Meunier (1888-1979). Meunier was a French illustrator whose career flourished in the 1920’s and 1930’s. She is best known for her nude and semi-nude female drawings. She developed “pin-up” style boudoir illustrations and was acclaimed as a female artist during a time when male artists dominated this genre of art. Examples of her work are increasingly more collectable as they are limited and more difficult to find. RARE to find now. Her illustrations are soft and gentle and showcase the beauty of the feminine body. At the same time they are subtle, playful, flirtatious and fun. This image is entitled "Simplicite: un rien m'habille!” which translates as "Simplicity: I'm Dressed in Nothing". It was an insert in the magazine from the time. It is original to 1930 and NOT a recent reproduction. Signed in the lithograph stone. Excellent, clean condition. The print is 8 x 11.5 inches in size. Comes matted in a 16 x 20 16 x 20 inch custom mat ready for a standard size frame. Please allow time for custom matting.
