This is a matted print that dates to 1912. It features a semi-nude women holding a colorful parrot in a rose garden. She is wearing a 19th century dress design. Note the butterfly fluttering around her. The print was illustrated and signed in stone by the well acclaimed Art Deco illustrator Umberto Brunelleschi. Brunelleschi was born in Italy but spent his career life in Paris. He is best known for his fashion pochoirs, costume designs, and book illustrations. His work is now sold at art auctions worldwide. This image is typical of his talent. Note the intricacies and detailing on the dress and in the background. Note too the headband, hair style, the white fluffy bodice and the tease of the nudity. This image is perfect for one with a sense of humor, whimsy and fantasy. It originally appeared in a French magazine from from 1912. It is NOT a modern day reproduction.
