This is an original magazine illustration by the French artist, André Dignimont (1891-1965). Dignimont had a well accomplished career that spanned over 40 years. He was an artist of landscapes, nudes, set designs, and story illustrations, works in watercolor, print and drawings. This image is a wonderful print of an aquarelle that appeared as magazine cover art in 1950. It is a mid-century image of a Parisian café scene, a jazz club. It is a lively scene with strong, clean crisp color. Perfect for the jazz lover, the musician, the lover of night life. Signed by the illustrator in lower right corner. 6 ¾ x 7 ¼ inches in size; pristine; original to 1950 (NOT a modern reproduction). Comes matted in a neutral 16 x 20 inch custom mat that is ready for a standard size frame. Please allow time for matting.
