This is a wonderful print for the wine connoisseur. This is a matted French Art Deco advertisement for the well-known Nicholas wine house. Nicholas was founded in 1822 and has the distinction of being the first retailer of wine in France. It's first wine shop was on Ile Saint Louis in Paris. The "Nicholas man" is an iconic figure and Nicholas wine shops are still found all over France. This advertisement print has wonderful Art Deco elements. It is from 1929. Done in black and white it features an elegant gentleman tasting his wine. The image is illustrated and signed by the artist (just under the table). Excellent condition! 8.25 x 10.5 inches.
