RARE set of 3 matted mid-century fashion designs by the iconic René Gruau, one of the world’s leading fashion illustrators of all times. Hard to find a coordinating set of 3 prints at one time. These date to 1946 and originally came from a “notebook” of designs in a French fashion magazine. They showcase day wear fashion with strong elements of graphic styling and contrasting color, signatures of Gruau’s work. Note the strong line drawing elements and the use of shadowing, also classic features of Gruau. One image is signed in stone by Gruau. These are each 7.25 x 10.75 inches in size. Each will be matted in a neutral tone 16 x 20 inch custom mat ready for a standard size frame. Very good condition, clean with strong color. Make a wonderful grouping as a set of 3!
