This is a RARE image. It is a 1932 matted Art Deco print that features an elegant couple dressed in formal evening wear. It originally appeared in a haute couture French fashion magazine. It is NOT a modern day reproduction. It features a dress design by Jeanne Lanvin! Done in strong colors of bright red and metallic silver inks. Metallic inks were used in the early 20th century and were unique to those years and were often used as highlights. The metallic silver ink is predominant in this image. It is in excellent condition...not crinkled or crimped, thus making this image rare to find! Note the subtle details of the design: the graphic background of the ironwork in the doorway, the touches of jeweled accessories and the open mirrored compact held by the woman. Note too the white neckwear and gloves worn by the man. It is elegance personified! Signed in stone by the artist in lower left corner. 7.25 x 10 inches in size. Comes in a neutral tone 16 x 20 inch custom mat ready for a standard size frame. Please allow time for custom matting.
