RARE & UNUSUAL FIND! This is a 1910 French Art Nouveau botanical design plate that originally came from an unbound portfolio of chromolithographs featuring designs for murals, tapestries, textiles, etc. The design portfolios have become extremely rare as they were produced in limited quantity for specific clients and thus had limited circulation. They are difficult to find in good condition with the passage of time. This chromo is also unusual in that it is in rare horizontal format. The image features vignettes of full blossomed irises with Art nouveau details. Rich is soft hues of lavender-pinks, blues, gold, grays, the image is quite beautiful. It is a true Art Nouveau image with curvy, flowing, floral patterns. (Note signed initials in lower right of bottom image) 9 ½ x 14 inches in size; comes matted in a neutral tone 16 x 20 custom mat ready for a standard size frame.
