This is an original lithograph design plate for Art Nouveau jewelry that came from the French Album de la Decoration, c 1900. Created by Maurice Durat, these brooch designs reflect the organic flowing floral styles typical of the Art Nouveau period. Durat worked with luxurious gold and silver metals and expressed beauty of the organic shapes and forms in his creations. His work became well-known in Paris and throughout Europe. Works by Durat can be found in the Museum of Decorative Arts in Paris and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York as well as in private collections.
This lithograph is 9 x 13 inches. It is original to c 1900 and NOT a recent reproduction.
