This is a French Art Nouveau antique chromolithograph of jewelry designs that dates to 1902. It came from an unbound portfolio of decorative designs, Album de la Decoration, that featured tapestries, ceramics, furniture, jewelry, etc. Original chromolithographs from this period have become increasingly more difficult to find in excellent, clean condition with the passage of time, making this one RARE and desirable. This design showcases brooches. The designs are elaborate and intricate and exemplify the organic forms typical of Art Nouveau where fine art fuses with natural forms making them functional and practical. The designs are ornamental and beautifully unique. The chromolithograph is 9 by 13 inches in size. It is original to 1902 and NOT a recent reproduction. It is in pristine A+ condition and is custom matted in a neutral tone 16 x 20 inch custom mat and works perfectly in a standard size frame.
