A.E.Marty was highly regarded at the time; he was appointed on the jury for the 1925 Exposition Internationale des Arts Decoratifs et Industriels Modernes, from which the Art Deco movement took its name. His work appeared in high styled fashion magazines of the time such as La Gazette du BonTon, Vanity Fair, Vogue, etc. Today Marty’s works are highly collectible. This print is a classic image of swimmers enjoying a summer afternoon at the lake while others are leisurely relaxing on the shoreline with their picnic fare.
