RARE! This is a matted 1973 print by the iconic master of the Art Deco era, Erté. Erté’s work is chic, elegant, and sophisticated. It is highly recognizable worldwide and still influences fashion and art trends today. This image is RARE! We discovered it for the first time very recently. It appeared as a story illustration in a haute couture magazine from 1973 as part of a featured article for a new fragrance. Erté was asked to draw his “notion of the essence of scent, its evocative powers and its sensations”. He designed this bottle for the new fragrance and enclosed a note calling it “un parfum a perdre la tête”. “Every bottle of scent should lose its head for you to lose yours”, he said. The image speaks for itself! Classic Erté! Signed in stone! Excellent condition. Fabulous color! 9 x 12.25 inches. Comes matted in a neutral tone 16 x 20 inch custom mat ready for a standard size frame. Please allow time for custom matting.
