This is a matted French Art Deco print of a beautiful woman that dates to 1923. it originally appeared in a haute couture French fashion magazine. It is a highly stylized portrait of a woman with black grapes illustrated by the leading Art Deco fashion illustrator Eduardo Garcia Benito. Benito left his homeland of Spain to study in Paris where he joined the circle of artists including Picasso, Gauguin and Modigliani whose works greatly influenced him. This is apparent in this work! Benito established himself as a portrait artist, a decorative artist and fashion illustrator. His worked extensively for French Vogue during the 1920s, 1930s, and 1940s. This image is classic Benito! Note his stylized signature on the lower right side of the image. This print is in excellent condition with strong color and graphic quality. It is original to 1923 and NOT a modern reproduction.
