This is a 1922 matted Art Deco lithograph by the well-known French artist Leo Fontan. Fontan was a recognized illustrator whose work appeared in popular magazines such as La Vie Parisienne and Le Sourire. He was an acclaimed artist who participated in the 1925 l’Exposition des Arts Décoratifs in Paris which ushered in the Art Deco movement. This lithograph features a young nude entranced in her garland of cascading white roses. The image has a beautiful palette. Soft grays with the rich flourishes of white capture the sensuous softness of femininity. You can sense the luscious and passionate pleasures it evokes. Note her touches of makeup and her negligee. This lithograph would work well in a bathroom, dressing room or bedroom. Signed by the artist.
