RARE RARE BEAUTY! This is an original French Art Deco magazine cover for Femina magazine that dates to 1930. Magazine cover art is highly susceptible to tears, rips, stains, folds, etc. and with the passage of time has become extremely difficult to find in A+ pristine condition. This is an original cover to the December Christmas edition of an haute couture French magazine, Femina, that had limited circulation and a limited audience. It was for the most chic fashion conscious woman of the time. Note the “luxury” of the print. It features both gold and silver inks which were used during the 1920’s and 1930’s in French high fashion illustrations. Also note the layering of the images, specifically the full length image of the stylish woman behind the outlined face details. This is subtle detail that speaks to the uniqueness of the image. The print is in excellent condition with strong color. Signed by the illustrator in lower right side. 9 ½ x 12 ½ inches. Comes matted in a 16 x 20 inch neutral tone custom mat that is ready for a standard size frame. Please allow time for custom matting.
