This is a rare pair of Art Deco lithographs from 1923. They were originally the front and rear covers of a French fashion catalog with a limited circulation. Such catalogs are extremely rare and have become highly collectible due to their rarity. This catalog had both front and rear illustrated images which make it exceptionally of interest. One features hair and jewelry designs and the other makeup! And they were illustrated by Eduardo Benito who launched his career with the legendary Paul Poiret as a designer of fabrics, fashion, and decorative objects. Benito was the leading cover illustrator for French Vogue for many years and he illustrated for the coveted Gazette du BonTon. These images are vignettes with wonderful styling details in soft colored hues. They are quite unique! They are framed in a decorative textured screen format which adds much interest. Printed on thick paper stock. 7.5 x 10 inches. Excellent condition. Priced as a pair.
