This is a beauty! It is an antique botanical chromolithograph that was a supplement to the 1911 Amateur Gardening Journal printed in London. It is a soft hued image of the astilbe blossoms that is in excellent clean condition. The colors in both the blossoms and the foliage are ethereal and light and the overall impression of the chromo has a painterly quality. Note the documentation on the image borders that attests to its provenance. Also note the foliage detail on the left side reaches out of the image frame---a unique detail!. Image size is 6.5 x 9.75 inches. The botanical plate is 8.15 x 11.5 inches. Reverse side is clean with no print.
