Wonderful, such an amazing piece! I've owned this for over 20 years and haven't seen another one like it!
In 1907, orders for "Steiff Teddy Bears" was finally reaching an all time high in the US and became known as "The YEAR OF THE BEAR" and sold almost a million items for that year. I believe this piece was an Advertising piece for a high end department store like George Borgfeldt and Company, who became one of the biggest seller's of Steiff pieces in the US.
This is an Original from 1907 (IT IS NOT A COPY). It measures 28" x 24" inside the Antique frame and the print itself is 18" x 14". It says under the Girl and Teddy Bear, "NOW WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE MY TEDDY BEAR." It also has the the printer stamp underneath the Girl, "Copyright, 1907, By National Art CO., N.Y."
Condition is excellent, as it's been on my wall without sun, so no fading. It has an acid free matting around it.
This is truly such and wonderful and very special item to put in with your Teddy Bears and Friends!
SHIPPING: I am putting one price for shipping. BUT, if you wait until after purchasing this, I will get you the accurate shipping cost for UPS. Thanks:)
