This is a very realistic, full 360 degree figural bird sculpture made of sterling silver. It appears to be all sterling silver and not weighted, but it is hollow. The type of bird I am guessing to be a magpie. The magpie has it's head down and beak slightly open as if it is feeding. The magpie stands on both legs/feet. It stands approximately 5 1/2" tall at the tip of the tail and it is about 9" from beak to tail. This bird weighs approximately seven troy ounces.
The hallmarks are on the underside of the tail feathers. Those hallmarks are the number 925 (sterling silver) followed by a crescent moon, a crown hallmark (this identifies the bird as being made in Germany) and a mark that appears to maybe be a "N" in a shield (possibly a maker's mark?). These hallmarks do identify the magpie as being from Germany and probably 50 to 75 years old, mid 20th century.
