Georg Jensen Caravel pattern sterling silver flatware set service for four (4) with eight (8) pieces per place setting plus 2 serving pieces. This set is in very good vintage condition and has not been polished or buffed, but is in original as found condition, so you may buff it bright or leave it as it is. The set is not monogrammed and has no other engravings.
The 8 pieces that are in each place setting are, dinner knife, dinner fork, 3 tine salad fork (or fish fork), cocktail fork, cream soup spoon, oval dessert/soup spoon, teaspoon and flat handle butter spreader. There are also two serving pieces included with this set, a serving spoon (approximately 8 1/2 inches long) and a serving fork (approximately 9 inches long), they can be used together as a salad serving set. These are serving spoon and fork as the actual salad set in this pattern has hollow handles.
This wonder small set could easily be used for a small family or as a starter set for t anyone wanting to start collecting a larger set of Caravel or add it to their existing set. Caravel was designed by Henning Koppel for Georg Jensen in 1957. Great mid century modern design.
