A sterling silver bowl that is handmade by the Canadian silversmith Carl Poul Petersen. The bowl is approximately 5 1/8 inches in diameter and about 3 1/2 inches high with a circular base. The base of the bowl is decorated with four sets of leaves/blossoms. This bowl may be Petersen's interpretation of the classic (Paul) Revere bowl.
The bowl is hallmarked with the words "HAND MADE STERLING", the Canadian sterling guarantee stamp and the Carl Poul Petersen logo. We do have other Petersen pices listed that you may like to check out if you are interested in Petersen. All pieces are in very good vintage condition only showing age appropriate wear.
Petersen apprenticed at Georg Jensen Silversmithy in Denmark and while there he married one of the daughters of the famed Georg Jensen. Being of the Jewish faith, when World War II broke out, Petersen decided to move to North America. He started out in the United States but eventually ended up living and working in Montreal, Canada.
Petersen's best known piece is hockey's Stanley Cup that he made.
