A fabulous Art Deco 3 piece dresser set consisting or a mirror, brush and matching comb is shown here. The comb is almost always missing in antique and vintage dresser sets. This set is made by the Napier Company of North Attleboro, Mass. The design motif of this set is very reminiscent of the Art Deco styling of the New York City Chrysler Building. The central motif to the mirror and the brush is a pair of birds, love birds or maybe parrots(?) among tropical foliage. The matching comb is of a simpler matching Deco motif. All 3 pieces are marked exactly the same with the Napier "N" logo and the word "STERLING". This is a large size dresser set with the mirror length measuring approximately 15", the brush is about 10" and the comb measures approximately 7 3/4" long. The mirror measures about 6 1/4" in diameter.
The entire set is in extremely good vintage condition and no piece is engraved or monogrammed. This set is rather rare and hard to find, especially being the complete matching 3 piece set. The brush bristles appear to be original and the mirror/looking glass appears to be original as well. Both are in great condition. The sterling comb frame may have a newer replacement faux tortoise (plastic) comb in it that is also in great condition. The sterling comb frame back is a small thin piece of silver and when the teeth to original combs broke, often times the comb, frame and all, were thrown out. This makes having the matching comb frame very unusual.
