This necklace is made by Antonio Pineda of Taxco, Mexico and is often referred to as the "Comma Necklace" as the links making up the necklace do resemble a comma. Illustrations of Antonio's Comma can be seen in the book MEXICAN SILVER. The necklace is made of 970/1000 silver (sterling silver is 925/1000) and is set with shaped round onyx as the "dot" to the comma design.
It is approximately six and one half inches in diameter and about 17 inches long when opened. This necklace was made by Antonio in 970 silver. It is marked with the Antonio crown logo, Made in Mexico, 970, YY, 439 and the number 17 eagle mark. This necklace has not been buffed and there is no monogram or other engravings. In excellent vintage condition.
