Art Nouveau Bronze "Mariani Cocoa Wine" w/ Bacchus by P. Lenoir c.1909
Rare antique bronze medallion showing the union of Bacchus and Esculap.
Bacchus and Esculape standing, shaking hands over a bottle of Mariani wine. The back shows a radiant cherub holding a bottle of Mariani Cocoa Wine and raising a branch of laurel to the skies.
The inscription reads "By Associating The Cocoa Of Peru With The Blood of French Wines.
Mariani Realisa The Union of Esculap and Bacchus.
Remarkable bronze for the famous cocoa wine by Mariani (praised by many personalities, including Pope Leo XIII!).
Dimensions 1.5" wide x 2.25" high.
Excellent condition. A rare find!
