Fine vintage WPA Era mural study by listed Lithuanian / American artist Boris Deutsch.

During the early part of the 1930s Depression he worked for the federal Resettlement Project, traveling to various states to sketch workers being resettled onto farms. He eventually made his way to Los Angeles, where he became a successful commercial artist and worked for Paramount Pictures int he special effects department.

He is mostly known for his mural projects and in the 1940s he won a commission for a New Mexico post office mural. In 1941 he did another post office mural in Reedley, California.

This is an unsigned mural study done in graphite on paper that has been dry mounted to board.

Dimensions 17" x 6". The board measures 18" x 8".

No signature. Good vintage condition.
