These gorgeous vintage ladies brocade shoes have been examined by a Carks heritage specialist who verified that they are from the Edwardian Era and a scarce example of their high-end designer shoes dating about 1929. They are in amazing condition for their age and purpose. the brocade covering is beautiful with shimmering fanciful silver designs overlapping dark and light coral pale green, and gray blue free form design. Their heels are referred to as baby doll heels. Their soles have the impressed numbers 604 AA and one of the shoes still retains the stamped circular mark: C& J Clark U street 1825 Wessex Shoes . They were probably only worn a few times so this is historically fortunate . The inside leather linings are clearly impressed 4 1/2 4 66041 N They have elegant brocade and leather lined straps with tiny silver colored buckles .
The only flaw I could find was a loss on one toe of silver thread.
They are referred to as the Napoli Bar shoe and are covered in multi colored brocade. The Wessex brand was first used by in 1928 and was used to distinguish Clark's more expensive shoes.
