This beautiful Scottish amethyst and ( stamped) 9 ct (375)gold brooch is unusual having a twin thistle design. The brooch is also stamped with to other tiny marks which I can't decipher. Most antique Scottish jewelry was set in silver Pieces set in gold are desirable and scarce.
The faceted amethysts are claw set and are the attractive delicate amethyst color so loved by the Victorians.
The brooch is all original , in very good condition, and has a locking clasp.
