A gorgeous pair of vintage salmon Coral drop earrings. The coral is genuine, natural momo coral. Momo coral has the tale tale white spot or vein that appears in the coral which I actually love. It proves to you as well as everyone who see them on you that they are genuine coral.
The earrings are set in 14k yellow gold. Though not marked they have been tested and confirmed.
Coral drop such as this pair are quite rare and you do not see them for sale very often. I have collected coral for well over 30 years now as well as having family who visited Hawaii often. Lucky me! Circa 1970's early 1980's. This pair is post pierced.
The color of the salmon coral is a very beautiful and what I would consider a medium tone true salmon. The earrings are a very nice large size.
These earrings have only been worn a few times. On the center in the back of one of the drops is a very fine crack line running length wise. You have to look for it to see it. It is in back which is not seen. I have tried to photo but is still hard to see even in photos. The photo in my hand and the last photo, looking at the back earring I have tried to capture the crack line. As you can see, even in very enlarged photos it is difficult to see. Earrings have a very beautiful high polish and shine brilliantly.
Just in time for summer, a beautiful addition to any wardrobe.
Length of entire earring: 46.7mm ( 2 inches is 50mm) so they are quite long Dimension of round coral ball top: 6.75mm Length and width of coral drops: 31.27mm long ( this is the drop not the gold bar above it) Width of coral drops: 7.5mm Weight of pair is 5.7 grams
With purchase I am also including a pair 14k backs as well as a pair larger of disc backs (not gold) which is the suggested backs for this pair of earrings as I feel they are a better fit and more comfortable.
The corals are very well matched in both size and color All gold is yellow gold and is not marked but tested as 14k
