This is a really neat spoon! Made by Hirsch & Oppenheimer of Chicago, Illinois (1897-1928) is in excellent antique to vintage condition. The bowl is beautifully engraved with with Denver. The handle is the intriguing part with a miner at rest at the top followed by the State Seal of Colorado, a pack donkey or mule with miners tools. Followed by farm equipment. The back is also pretty spectacular with an American Indian in full head dress and shield under which is a cowboy with a raised pistol riding a horse. Under this is a campfire with a hanging cook pot and a log cabin in the background. Marked sterling and HO for Hirsch & Oppenheimer. This fine piece is 5 7/16" in length and weighs 15.8 grams of sterling silver.
