This silverplate spoon by U.S. Sterling is in very good condition. Made for the 1892 Chicago Worlds Fair, this piece has one of Columbus's sailing vessels and 1492 below. There is a nice bust of Columbus and Worlds Fair below. The spoon has a slightly elongated bowl and is 5 3/4" in length.
I've always had an interest in souvenir spoons. Whether antique, vintage or more modern, souvenir spoons are fascinating with history, geography and the life an times of the people it depicts. I must say my knowledge of history and places has improved substantially adding these wonderful pieces on my site here at Ruby Lane as I research these spoons. I am proud to say that Silver by Patrick does have the largest selection of souvenir spoons on Ruby Lane!!
