This very unique sterling commemorative spoon of the 1892 Chicago Columbus Exposition is in very good condition with no dings or dents to the bowl and normal wear form use. The spoon is also unique in a different way as the bowl is shaped more like a sugar shovel than an oval bowl as one sees more often. The bowl is very detailed with the bow of the boat shown with sailors, sails an all. The land is a tropical setting with palm trees, hills and vegetation. The top of the handle of course has Columbus and 1492. The back of the handle show several buildings at the exposition in great detail. The spoon is 5 3/4" in length and weighs a heavy 33.4 grams of sterling silver. Stamped with the Reed and Barton hallmark and sterling. A great addition to your Columbus Exposition spoon collection.
