This sterling tea caddy is just gorgeous! This very heavy piece has a elk, caribou, reindeer etc as the center piece in the bowl. Above this is a cross. All very well done. The handle has the Virgin Mary holding baby Jesus with a crown in one arm and a cherub in the other. This piece is stamped with the London marks for 1899 and the import mark use for items imported between 1867-1904. The makers mark (WM) is for William Moering of London. This is a very thick and heavy piece at 41.7 grams of sterling. The overall length is 4" and the bowl is 1 3/4" wide. Just a beautiful piece!!
