This is a fantastic spoon and in excellent condition. Made by Austrian silversmith Georg Adam Scheid (1858-1913). This 800 silver demitasse spoon was most likely bought for someone in Nice, Italy as it is monogrammed Nice 1891 on the back top of the handle. There is also an applied lettering on the back of the bowl stating "Nicaea Civitas" meaning- Nice, the very loyal city. The finial of the spoon has a crown with the Austrian eagle below. It is stamped with G.A.S. for Georg Adam Scheid and a 800 mark and a city mark worn. The spoon is 4 11/16" in length and weighs 14.4 grams of .800 silver. A really nice spoon for a collector.
