This unique letter opener, a souvenir of Portland, Maine is in good condition except for the small seam split on the sides as shown. Normal wear applies and there are a few dings on the side as well. Nevertheless, this completely functional letter opener is quite nice. The blade depicts Portland, Me. highlighted by the brass beneath. The handle is the unique part showing an American Indian in headdress below which is a corn motif. The same on both sides. Stamped sterling with no apparent makers mark. This piece is 6 5/8" in length and the top of the handle at its widest is 11/16". Despite the condition, definitely a collectors piece of American Indian motif sterling.
