This interesting money clip has a beautifully done engraved front with an applied abalone shell horseshoe design. The back is pierced with a $ sign. What is interesting is the front and back are sterling while the rounded clip/spring on the top is not. This spring is what keeps the clip closed tight. Underneath the back, through the dollar sign, one can see the stamping on the back of the front piece. There is a triangle with the wording Plata de Jalisco around it and 925 within the triangle. Underneath the triangle is the makers name of V.H.L.C. Under that is worn lettering which appears to be CUAD.MEX. One other stamping has a an outline with the number 50 inside it. This piece is 2" tall and 1" wide.
