This match safe by Gorham is in good condition. The spring is intact but isn't strong and needs to be manually closed the remainder of the way. The lid doesn't sit perfect and only closes to the point shown in the picture. Normal wear an thumb depressions are apparent. The striker is worn from use. This match safe is dated approximately early to mid 1800's using the aesthetic movement design. Each side is slightly different with its floral and bug motif. The bezel is stamped on the one side with Gorham Co. and the Gorham logo. The other side is stamped 060. Inside the lid is stamped 52. It measures 2 5/8" by 1 1/2".
