Presented here is an authentic Native American, Zuni sterling silver cross, signed by Myra T. Qualo (1913-2008). The piece has the makers hallmark used by the artist during the 1930s. She used two additional hallmarks throughout her career. The cross presented here is an original design by the artist and shows European and Native American influences. There are 5 mm round "snake eye" cabochon stones in natural American Turquoise sawtooth set in the cross. Pyote button flowers are stamped at the end of each cross point with silver rays of light leading out from the center of the design. Myra T. Qualo was known for her cross designs and turquoise settings. The cross presented here is from here earliest work. It is not precious metal stamped but tests positive for high-grade silver.

The cross measures 2 1/4 inches in length and 1 3/4 inches in width. The cross is at the center of a 15-inch long sterling silver necklace made with traditional Native American bench beads. The necklace is new to the cross pendant and not original to it. The bench beads are sterling silver and each one was handmade by N8tiveArts in Boulder City Nevada. The beads measure from 5mm to 9 mm and are strung in a graduating design on silver foxtail in the Native American tradition. A sterling silver hook and eye clasp is used to secure the 15-inch choker necklace when worn.
