Exquisite black opals from Ethiopia are presented here in this 19 1/2 inch long necklace. 14 K solid gold Rondell beads are spaced between the opals and there is an 18 K solid gold and opal clasp to secure the necklace when worn.

The opals are hand-cut and faceted Rondells that range in size from 4 mm to 6 1/2 mm. They are strung in a graduating pattern with the largest stones to the front of the necklace. There are seven 14 K solid gold Rondell beads spaced between the black opal gems.

The clasp is 18 K solid gold and measures 10 mm X 13 mm. There is a 6 mm X 8 mm faceted natural Ethiopian opal gem prong set on the top of the gold clasp. The clasp, including the prong-set opal gem, measures 8 1/8 mm high. The clasp is a substantial gemological addition to the necklace and can be displayed at the front of the piece as well as the back.
