Presented here is a contemporary 18-inch triple strand necklace made with blue and white spiral glass art beads made by the Cherry Brand company of Osaka Japan from 1945 to 1951.
The glass beads are hand made so vary in size and oval shapes. They average 1 inch long and 8 mm in width. Between the glass beads are Bali Silver rectangle beads with decorative repose patterns and Swarovski crystals.
The three strands come together with a large rectangle-shaped sterling silver marcasite clasp. The shortest strand measures 18 inches, including the clasp. This is a colorful contemporary artisan necklace made with vintage Cherry Brand Japanese art glass beads that are "new old stock" (NOS). They were made by artisans in the Osaka Japan glass kilns for the mid-twentieth-century jewelry market between 1945 and 1951. This is their first time being made into a jewelry item.
