Presented here today is a vintage cultured saltwater Akoya pearl and 14 K yellow gold brooch from the 1980's.
The brooch is handmade cast in 14 K yellow gold to depict a vine branch with two leaves. There are 20 Akoya cultured saltwater pearls attached to the 14 K gold branch. The pearls measure 3 to 4 mm each and are a blush color with a satin luster and golden orient.
The brooch measures 2 1/4 inches from the tip of the branch to the furthest pearl and 1 inch wide at the two branch leaves. It weighs 7.5 grams.
A 14K metal stamp is located at the end of the branch between the two gold leaves and a second 14K metal stamp is located on the base of the pin safety latch.
There is no visible damage to the brooch. The pearls are in excellent condition with their surface being free of marks.
This is a classic piece of estate jewelry from the 1980's.
