Estate jewelry finds: Presented here is a Vintage Native American, Navajo sterling silver, and spiny oyster ring from the 1970s,
signed with the maker's hallmark used by Richard Blatts, Navajo
Provenance: The same owner since 1970
This is a beautiful vintage ring in a size 7.5 demonstrating excellent silversmith work, lapidary work, and traditional native design. The carved Spiny Oyster cabochon is a heart shape set in sterling silver with a band of twisted silver to accentuate the bezel setting. The cabochon measures 1 inch by 1 inch. The inside of the ring band is precious metal hallmarked "sterling" with the capital "Y" stamp used by Richard Blatts, Navajo, as his maker's hallmark during the time he was making jewelry. The ring is in good condition for its age and showing few signs of use.
Items by Richar Blatts do not come on the market often. They are coveted pieces of jewelry from the past, known for excellence in silversmithing and stone settings. The ring presented here is a fine example of his work and will be sent to you in a gift box for giving or keeping.
