The pearls are the Tahitian grading "pear shape" with "rings." They are a natural silver/grey that orients to pistachio green and pale lavender when exposed to the light. Each cultured pearl measures 8-11 by 9-12 mm and is knotted on silk cord. Their surface is more than 90% clear with only a few natural flaws. As "ringed" Tahitian pearls they display an array of natural colors. These pearls are "first harvest" so they measure between 8 and 9 mm, are well matched and very comfortable to ware. There are four sterling silver fancy 5 mm beads spaced among the pearls, adding depth to the design.
The clasp for this artistic piece of jewelry is a hand made sterling silver Southwest Cross design with a Fox turquoise gem set in the center. The clasp measures 24 X 24 mm at the end or the "four directions" and is 5 mm thick. The Fox turquoise is bezel set and measures 5 mm round. The Southwest Cross is a Navajo symbol for the four directions of the earth and the four original tribes of mankind. The necklace is 18 inches long and weighs 56 grams.
