Genuine AA grade South Sea cultured pearls from Indonesian waters are knotted on silk cord with 14 K solid white gold beads and clasp to make this 19 inch necklace.
The baroque pearls are natural silver, deriving their color from the "silver lip" mollusk they were grown in. They each measure from 9-11 mm and each one embodies the defining characteristics of South Sea cultured pearls. They have the soft, glowing luster, natural silver color, irregular baroque shape and thick nacre specific to South Sea pearls from Indonesian waters. They fall under the grading shape for South Sea pearls of " modified circle." Each of the pearls in this necklace has a clear surface with a glowing silver luster.
Ten seamless, 14 K solid white gold beads are spaced between the pearls. Each of the gold beads measure 8 mm round and has been acid tested to verify their metal content. There is a 10 mm clasp made of 14 K solid white gold to secure the piece. The tab for this clasp is made of sterling silver. White gold can be brittle and too fragile a material when used for a flexible closure like the one in this particular clasp. The round ball of the clasp has been acid tested to verify its 14 K gold content.
A necklace like this is not often seen. The simplicity of design, combining lustrous silver pearls with white gold beads, allows each pearl to display its individual beauty. This necklace will enhance and display the natural beauty of the woman who wares it as well!
