Exotic Egyptian motif graces this antique sterling silver button hook. The petite hook shows a detailed image of the Eye of Horus. The Egyptian Eye of Horus hieroglyph instills protection, royal power and good health. There are several additional qualities that can be attributed to the icon. In addition, the mathematical dimensions that make up the eye are precise and have meaning. The image of the eye is set on the handle of the hook. To each side of the eye image is a lotus blossom. At the slim end of the handle, an image of a pharaoh can be seen. At the opposite end of the eye image is a dainty hook. On the reverse side a maker's mark of W indicates Whiting. Also marked is sterling 82. Initials of MPT are engraved beside the marks. 2 3/8" long and almost 1/2" wide. Very excellent condition.
