12 Minton, England Finely Detailed Plates with Side Plates
This set of Minton, Stoke-on-Trent, England, service or dinner plates feature five 22-karat gold-beaded panels, elegantly decorated with Adam-style ribbons, foliate and flowers on an ivory band with a white plate well. The larger five panels are divided by five smaller panels that feature a classically styled fruit bowl. The plates are further enhanced by stippled gold beading throughout.
The plates are paired with a smaller salad or dessert plate in the coordinating Minton Winchester pattern for 24 items total, a truly elegant set.
Minton was well-know to have some of the best if not the best gold gilders, plates of this complexity were gilded by master gilders.
