I have looked this outfit over carefully, and although it is hand sewn and put together with the right fabrics, I am pretty sure that it is a newer piece made from antique fabrics. Nonetheless, this is really fabulous! It is made of antique calico fabric for the trim and early homespun linen for the rest of the dress. The neckline is perfect for an 1860s doll. The jacket closes with hooks and attachments made of thread. The jacket is about 4 1/2 inches from seam to seam. In the front of the jacket, from neckline to bottom, it measures 5 inches long. In the back, that distance is 4 inches long. Sleeves measure 4 1/2 inches long . Lying flat, the width of the sleeve is about 1 3/4 inches. The skirt is 9 inches long. Lying flat, the waist measures 3 1/2 inches. There is one hook and two eyes on the back to adjust to different size in waist. The fabrics are in good condition and it is expertly made; as you can see both pieces have been lined. If you have a doll in need, you will not go wrong with this dress. Please feel free to ask questions or request more photos and do take a look at my other early doll items. Thank you for shopping Red Dog Dolls.
