This doll is an unusual variation of the covered wagon hair style because she has exposed ears. Very rare. And, by the looks of her modeling, she may have been the first one from the mold. Even the ears are clearly detailed. Also, there is a white line on top of her head to indicate parted hair. She stands 18 1/2 inches tall. Her dress is antique and appropriate to the time of manufacture which is circa 1850. Her shawl is vintage. Her body is early but not original to her and has some patching on the arms, restitching around the ankle and knee and a tear in the crotch area. I have photos of all these but Ruby Lane has a nine limit posting so if you need more photos please email me. She has red lines over her eyes and a red dot in the corner. She has a space between her smiling lips and I believe she was made by Kestner. Notice along the base of the front of the plate there is a teeny tiny crack which may have been made during manufacturing or not. All in all, she is a wonderful example of this unusual doll.
