This is a rare, hard to find, early china doll with the molded bonnet. She has a stunning face and wears a beautifully modeled bonnet with a lovey blue "ribbon" on the back A photo of this very type of doll can be found in China Doll Collecting by Jan Foulke. She measures about 14 inches tall and is on an early body, but not the original. The limbs are carved of wood and at the top of the legs are very daintily painted pink ribbons. There is some paint loss on the arms and legs. She wears an early calico dress of two different but coordinating fabrics. It is hand stitched and has early porcelain buttons. She also comes with her early under clothing and a bit of antique silk frippery as a shawl to drape around her shoulders. As you can clearly see in my photos, the shoulder plate has been broken and glued. All pieces are accounted for so if you desire a better repair you should not have a problem. There is also a rough spot along the side of the bonnet which I cannot tell whether or not this is a manufacturing flaw or a chip. I have photographed this for you. My pricing reflects these issues. Were she intact, she would be a $10,000.00 doll. Please feel free to ask questions or request more photos. Lay-a-way is available; please contact me first.
