This little doll must have been some child's secret delight back in the 1860s . She is a bit over 2 1/2 inches long which makes her delicate ink features and meticulous clothing even more remarkable. The little box she rests in has antique hand made paper covering it and very well may be original to her. I believe her little cape and dress are wool. The early calico that creates her body underneath the clothes looks as fresh as the day it was made having been hidden by her outer garments. It has been many years since I have had such an early stump doll; I just don't come across them very often. So if you have been searching for one this little doll may very well be the prize you've sought. Please feel free to ask questions or request more photos. Do take a peek at my other early items and thanks for the look.
