A fabulous example of classic Edwardian jewelry, combining pearl, diamonds, and gold, in a ring that can serve as a cocktail ring or a unique engagement ring. The platinum-topped, scallop-edged setting, sparkling with tiny round brilliant and single-cut diamonds, in a pierced, millegrain-edged design, provides the backdrop to a single pearl. Decorative embellishment to the gold shoulders adds to the elegant look. A classic Edwardian ring that is as timeless today as the day it was created!
Total weight of the ring is 2.9 grams. The setting is 14kt gold, topped with platinum -- a typical Edwardian technique. Both metals have been acid-tested. Due to the obvious age of the ring, it is quite likely that the pearl is natural rather than cultured. However, the pearl has not been tested to distinguish natural from cultured, because of the expensive X-ray test needed. Surrounding the approximately 4 mm pearl are 16 diamonds, 8 round brilliant cuts and 8 single cuts, for a total estimated diamond weight of 0.28ct. The ring size is 6-3/4 and can be easily resized by your jeweler. It is in excellent vintage condition.
This timeless Edwardian dinner ring will arrive in a fine quality presentation box.
